 Olive Producers (NE Vic) Inc (association) recognises the importance of protecting the privacy of personally identifiable information collected about members. For the purposes of this Privacy Statement, the word members includes visitors to our web sites, users of our services and purchasers of any products or services also for the purposes of this Privacy Statement the word association refers to Olive Producers (NE Vic) Inc Personal Information The association collects personal information when it provides services to you. Generally the association will tell you why it is collecting information when it is collected and how it plans to use the information or these things will be obvious when the information is collected, for example personal details are required for persons to gain membership of the association. Access to Personal Information You have a right to access most personal information the association hold about you and if the association deny access in some circumstances the association will tell you why. To request access, please contact our Secretary. Public Information Any information posted on bulletin boards and/or communicated in chat areas becomes public information. While the association strives to protect and respect your privacy, the association cannot guarantee the security of any information you disclose in a chat room or bulletin board. At present (July 2003) the association does not have a forum/bulletin board or chat group, however, one is provided by Yahoo for the olive industry in general and can be found here. Cookies Cookies are data that a Web site transfers to an individual's hard drive for record-keeping purposes. Cookies can facilitate a user's ongoing access to and use of a site. They allow or web site hosting provider to track usage patterns and to compile data that can help improve the content. What else you should know about privacy on the Internet Remember to close your browser when you have finished your user session. This is to ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence if you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place like a library or Internet café.
