 Olive Producers (NE Vic) Inc Olive Producers (NE Vic) Inc was formed in 1998 to assist growers and processors to develop a sustainable Olive Industry in the North East Region. (See the group's Mission Statement) The group meet regularly for information sharing, to hear experts in specific aspects of the Olive Industry, and to focus on issues common to members. The group meetings are held in North East Victoria at a variety of venues. Most of these venues sell wine and food and offer accommodation for meetings. If you are not a member but would like to attend a meeting and/or consider joining the group please contact one of the officers for more information. The criteria for membership involves the ownership of at least one olive tree and a deep respect for the production of excellent food. CLICK HERE to download a copy of our membership application form- (Note: The application is in MS Word format) The group is an incorporated body and the "model constitution" adopted by the group requires any person wishing to join to be nominated and seconded by two existing members. Membership rates: the annual fee is $50 per person, (this includes $10 to the Victorian Olive Council.) The climate of North East Victoria is ideal for the production of extra virgin olive oil and table fruit. Good clean air, clean water and fertile land are available in abundance, together with wonderful sunshine for the ripening of the fruit. North East Victoria produces much acclaimed gastronomic delights and boasts many fine cafes, restaurants, gourmet food producers and wineries. Add to this wonderful scenery, historic landmarks, beautiful trails for walking riding or driving and you have an experience not to be missed. One of the highlights of the Olive producer's year is the Golden Olive Awards which attract entries from all over the State. The oil and table fruit presented to the judges is of the highest standard, as is the product available for purchase from growers.  |
